High Wycombe event 10 Feb
Invitation
The RSGB ARDF Committee and TVOC invite you to a 2m event at Bradenham in the lovely Chiltern Hills on Sunday February 10th.
Location
Parking is at the main orienteering parking at GR SU 854965. For more details on the parking arrangements click here and select the Chiltern Challenge details link from the latest news area.
Do not follow the directions to the Orienteering start. Exit the parking lane and turn down Hunts Hill Lane. Follow signs to the string course. After about 400m enter a field on the left, through a kissing gate. If the weather is good I will be up on the hill on the left, if not I may be either sharing the string course tent or in the woods a further 30m up the lane on the left.
Terrain
Chalk land with mainly deciduous forestry well served with tracks and footpaths.
Events
144 MHz only with five transmitters. The following courses are on offer:
A short 3 TX course, approx distance 2.6km
A longer 4 TX course, approx distance 3.4km
A longer 5 TX course, approx distance 5.2km
Conditions under foot are generally good except for one path which is extremely muddy. This will only affect those choosing the long course.
Relaxation to the ARDF rules - one or more transmitters will be less than 750m from the start.
Fees
£3.00 for the day. There will be a separate parking charge collected by the parking team.
Map
The map is A3 size, scale 1:10,000,
Facilities
Toilets in the main parking area.
Dogs
May be walked in the woods and car park, but please keep under control.
Punching
Pin punching will be used. The main orienteering event is using EMIT electronic punching, so there should be no confusion.

Hopefully from 10.30 in the morning.
