Butterwood - 2m Blog

Michael Dunbar wore a GPS tracking watch at Butterwood and has plotted his actual track onto the Google Earth image of the woods. He tried to overlay it onto the O map but didn't had any suitable tools.
The colours on the map relate to when each Tx was active, Red(1), Yellow(2), Green(3), Blue(4) and Violet(5).

Michael comments:
I felt I was lucky with #3 as I saw it by the pond as I was running down the path.
#1 took a second transmission to locate it as it was tucked into the vegetation and I didn't see it on my initial pass through the wood. There is a zoom in of the map for that section.
I waited on the ride bend at the top of the hill to get a good bearing for #5 before descending down to the canal in the direction of #4. I crossed over on the off chance that it was the other side, I had the time, and if it wasn't I would have a good back bearing. As it turned out I was in sight of it, but hadn't seen it, when it came on. A second zoom shows this in more detail.
